XENIA ATHENS in the centre of Athens has been operational since May 2016 and has been made possible with funding provided by UNHCR.
This facility is fully run by NOSTOS and it provides security, appropriate accommodation for all beneficiaries and 3 meals a day. Transportation, interpretation/mediation services, access and referral to medical services and psycho-social support and orientation, legal aid/counselling are all provided on a case to case basis.

The food provided in all the facilities run by NOSTOS is a combination of simple Mediterranean cuisine with middle-eastern influences. The facilities provide special menus for babies and kids up to 6 years old, diabetics and follow any specific prescription by doctors.

Social services on all facilities will accommodate any medical or psychological needs that arise.

The XENIA ATHENS, operates 24/7 also offers accommodation and the necessary special care and the support to families with member(s) with health issues. This facility is equipped and staffed to receive emergency arrivals from all over Greece at any time. Specialized cases will be directed to the XENIA ATHENS where a medically trained professional on the premises offering specialised care.
In this facility a whole floor has been dedicated to cater for people with medical needs and their families.

The XENIA TEENS is a facility in the area of Piraeus providing shelter to Unaccompanied Minors. NOSTOS is fully responsible for this shelter and provides both accommodation and food as well as all the social services support needed.

In both XENIA ATHENS and XENIA TEENS, NOSTOS cooperates with volunteers that organise creative activities for the residences. Sometimes it is drawing and others it is dancing. In addition the extensive network of volunteers helps us at NOSTOS offer creative activities for kids as well as language lessons for adults and kids.

All staff and volunteers have specific training and skills in order to facilitate their interaction with beneficiaries.

NOSTOS offers social and psychological support to all the abovementioned shelters. We are in charge of the social services provisions and the psychological support needed by the beneficiaries. The rest of the amenities (accommodation arrangements and food provision ) are provided by UNHCR and its local partners in each facility.
